I’m a 30-year old entrepreneur, been married for a year, and am originally from Chicago. I spent 5 years in NYC, living out my bohemian fantasies in the music business before I made LA my home. My business is Booty Parlor— it’s a sexy lifestyle brand that brings style & humor into the experience of shopping for sex products (www.bootyparlor.com). I started it with my husband in an effort to create something new in the American sex & beauty market. We took out the porn and made shopping for vibrators & bedroom accessories more like shopping for cosmetics.
Right now, I’m deeply focused on handling the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur—how to handle the logistical problems and emotional frustrations involved, and keep up with the ever-changing landscape of each day. When I’m not thinking about work, I’m planning summer bbq’s at our house, attempting to be domestic without any real domestic skills, shopping for something or other, daydreaming or working out.

What is the next...

Purchase you’ll make?

The next BIG purchase I’ll make will be a piano, probably a Yamaha. I grew up playing on one, and love the Yamaha sound—clean, clear, and bright tone.

Trend in design?

High-end vibrators—using posh materials like polished acrylic or gold & platinum plating. Toys are being designed now to fit into the “stylish” lives of modern shoppers. If women will drop hundreds on Crème de la Mer, they also want to beautify their sex lives with glamorous accessories, and will pay for it.

Car you’d like to own?

1959 Ford Galaxie, in pink & white please.

Big step you’d like to make?

Get rid of my NYU graduate school debt. Put that evil Sallie Mae to bed, and never hear from her again. Those other ex-students who have loans out there know who she is…

Two weeks in & around Fiji, this summer hopefully. Part total relaxation, part Survivor. It’s time I roughed it, a bit anyway…

Thing you’re going to fight for?

Really great Madonna tickets… no, really… I’m going to “fight” for more peace of mind, less stress, long-lasting good health and to never start smoking again. That, and to make the business a huge financial success.

Secret that’s going to leak?

I don’t know. But I’ll read about it in next week’s US Weekly, I’m sure…

Hollywood blockbuster going to be about?

Hmmmm… I don’t know. I think more about what Booty Parlor’s next product concept will be, but I do like movie popcorn a lot.

Life you’ll lead?

Next life will be me as a mommy. Which will hopefully just mean “me” but with more patience. I hear children make you more patient. I could use that. Not for a while though…

Fountain of youth?

Lots and lots of orgasms. And honesty. Lies can rot your soul and shorten your life.

Book you’ll read?

Life of Pi by Yann Martel. On the recommendation of many, I pick it up every time I go on vacation, but never actually read it. I hear it’s charming & wise.

Thing that will change the world?

Booty Parlor tries to change the world… one orgasm at a time. We’re a company that’s making people happier and more comfortable & confident about their sex lives. Acknowledging that your sex life is just as important as the rest of your physical & mental health can make a big difference in one’s life. If we make one person happier and more satisfied, we’ve done something good and that affects the people around them and so forth. I’d love to do that for women in less fortunate countries, in worse political situations. Make women happy and a lot can change in the world…

Guilty-pleasure food in which you’ll indulge?

Sausage, with a side of bacon. Ok, that’s not really what I’ll have. But I do love both of them. Just separately.

Person to whom you’ll say, “I love you”?

My husband, Charlie. As my business partner, he sits across from me everyday, so we can sometimes drive each other crazy. But I tell him I love him quite often, because I really, really do.
