The 3form design team travels the globe to find the organic eye candy the company encapsulates between patented, award-winning EcoResin panels. EcoResin contains 40 percent pre-consumer regrind--plastic water and soda bottles by the millions matches the clarity of acrylic, and costs half as much as cast glass. To boot, the company’s new Varia line offers a provocative array of who-thought-of-that fillers like leaf fossils, palm branches and pearly Capiz shells from Indonesia, ithemba (South African copper beadwork), and lithe botanicals like coiled grape vine, tiger thatch, bamboo and ting, a pencil cattail found in Asia; many of these materials are sourced through nonprofits around the world to support indigenous people. 3form will sandwich your vintage bottle cap collection too, and work with any digital image. Strata panels, the first of many artist-driven product lines the company envisions, are ingenious simulations of the deft hand-trimmed and layered paper cutouts of Bay Area artist Claire Kahn.
