Because this is a very practical addition when I am cycling. I wear it under my helmet to keep the sweat from running into my eyes and it does the work better than a regular sweat band. A bonus is that the flap in your neck keeps the sun out.
It is a very fun, hip and simple invention. Lots of different designs (and fabric) are available and you can use it in many different ways. A great item! (via Rei)
